At Bay Area Community Church, we feel a great responsibility to our community. Our call to influence the world begins not by circling the globe, but by first crossing the street and influencing our neighbors . . . every man, woman and child that God allows us to meet!

Too often the church is isolated within its own walls, expecting the community to come to it. But Jesus said his followers were to hit the streets, bringing his love to the community through good deeds and expressions of compassion. In other words, the church isn't meant to be purely attractional; it is meant to be accessible!

Just a few of the ways we are currently engaging our community with the love of God include:

  • Lighthouse Christian Ministries - Providing financial, material and human resources to serve the poor and needy in our community. Additionally, we help facilitate 2nd Saturday Celebrations, an outdoor worship service on the streets in Bacliff, followed by serving lunch, groceries and toiletries to those in need.
  • Prison Fellowship & the Carol Young Medical Facility - Teaching inmate rehabiltation classes, facilitating worship services, distributing Christmas gifts to children of incarcerated inmates. We also have installed air conditioning to the warehouse facilities where inmates meet to worship. Vounteers interested in training for this ministry can email

  • Community Outreach Events - We actively engage and embrace the bay area communinty through free outreach events, carnivals and festivals that bring families together.
  • Montrose Street Reach - We have partnered with this strategic ministry for young adults experiencing homelessness, drug addiction and sexual brokeness.
